‘Ongosa’ taken from the Swahili word meaning ‘to guide or to lead’, stems from our belief that adventures are better when you get in with the locals and find the inside track.
As life-long adventure sports enthusiasts, we have applied this little theory to all our sporting adventures, and have met some amazing people along the way. People who have shown us a hidden powder stash, a cheeky trick on a board that took us a long way, or just the best place to watch the sun go down at the end of a long day in the saddle.
We think everyone should have the opportunity to meet these guys, especially as many of them make a living out of guiding or teaching, but survive on reputation and word-of-mouth. So Ongosa has set out on a mission to make adventure sports more accessible, by connecting people who have shared interests in learning and teaching, guiding and exploring, whatever the sport.
How are we doing this? To start off with, Ongosa has become the place to find your perfect ski, snowboard, climb or trekking instructor or guide. This is because we believe that finding an instructor or guide who, not only understands your goals but, is a great match for your personality (with great chairlift banter), contributes to a truly unforgettable adventure!
All you have to do is fill in a form telling us where, when and what you need. Then sit back and day dream about your holiday… (read our blog for inspiration!)
On and off piste activities ranging from heli-skiing and ice-climbing, to split-boarding and ski-touring
We think local is best, to get the inside track throughout mountain resorts in Europe
Whether your party speaks English, German, Italian or French, we will always have a guide to suit you
Patient instructors to help get you started, or expert locals who know secret backcountry runs
Are you best suited to a guide that is fun and outgoing, or is more quiet and serious more in tune with your style?
Learning or improving your skiing, snowboarding or climbing shouldn’t be intimidating. It should be exciting and most of all, completely accessible.
