Roeland was born in Nijmegen, Holland but often visited the mountains with his parents whilst growing up. However it was as a teenager that he really discovered the vertical world. After qualifying as a P.E. Teacher - (Netherlands 1997-2001) he decided to follow his heart and train to become a Mountain Guide. In 2001 roeland qualified as a climbing instructor for the Dutch Alpine club and also as an Alpine ski teacher (ISIA) in Austria. Between 2001 and 2010 he worked as a ski teacher in Austria (St. Anton) and then in France (Les Deux Alpes). Roeland would be very pleased to share his enthusiasm and love of mountaineering and skiing with you, and together, he is sure he can help to achieve your mountaineering goals.

Over the years roeland enjoyed exploring the Alps and have climbed many big routes. Including routes on famous faces such as the Eiger, the Droites, the Aig. Verte, Piz Badile and Cime Grande in the Dolomites. He has also climbed on expeditions in the greater ranges including Pakistan, Peru, Russia and most recently in Alaska (Moonflower Buttress).
