Born in Glasgow, I achieved a degree in French and had a "real job" for a few years before moving to the Alps to indulge my love of skiing. Since gaining my International Ski Teachers Diploma I have been based in Courchevel, in the Three Valleys. I have experience of working with all age groups and ability levels both on and off-piste.
Part of my season is spent training and assessing ski instructors for the British Association of Snowsport. Instructors.
It is hard to define what I like most about skiing, high speed carving, steeps and off-piste, moguls-I love it all.
My ideal day off would be getting off the beaten track on my touring skis with my husband and son.
In the summer I stay fit on my road and mountain bikes, usually clocking up several thousand kilometres.
My proudest moment on skis had to be passing the Eurotest, (a giant slalom race which is part of our diploma). At age 35, I smashed the womans time by two and a half seconds having skied my first ever giant slalom course four months previously.
To then be selected as a BASI trainer made me realise how far I had come from my days as chalet girl in Val d'Isere.
