Simon started skiing in Kitzbühel at the ripe old age of 3. Having grown up in Lancashire, Scottish skiing was not too far away from home, so lodging in a VW combi, old stables (with no heating) in Newtonmore and various youth hostels dotted around the Highlands, the family managed to ski regularly at the weekends. Simon has skied all over Europe, numerous North American resorts, with two amazing seasons in Park City, Utah. Having taught in Italy, Switzerland and France, and a permanent resident of Chamonix since 2002, he is one of around only 300 British ski teachers with the highest possible international teaching qualification, the BASI Level 4 ISTD. Having worked for a large ski school in the Chamonix valley and being a fluent French speaker means that he is well known whilst out on the mountain – all adding to the local knowledge, and ability to adapt to the prevailing conditions.
